Possession by JDBar, Oguigi, and HumbleGlow
Possession is a very useful skill if you would like to give your tulpa a way of interacting with the outside world. It allows your tulpa to influence the physical world by controlling your body. It enables your tulpa to play games with you, speak through your body, and type or write. There are two stages to practicing possession: the host's submission, and the tulpa's possession ability. Depending on the method used, the latter can actually be optional. This is because some methods rely on symbolism to allow quick reaction of the host's body to the tulpa's intention, while other methods rely on the host's ability to let go of motor control and hand it to their tulpa - who needs to develop muscle memory.
One symbolic method is where the tulpa sits inside of the host's body, like a ghost, and tries to take control of the body by moving her own. When possession grew in popularity, this was one of the first methods, and was referred to as "meat-gloving". Another method involves visualizing ethereal strings between the tulpa's body parts and the host's corresponding body parts - focusing on the idea that intent is transmitted through these strings. Another method involves creating an imaginary bodysuit that when worn, sends motor intent to the host's body. There are many ways for a symbolic method to work, but they all rely on the host accepting the intent of the tulpa. This is achieved by foregoing control of the body, and having faith in the tulpa's will to control you. In some cases, this is only done easily in a meditative state, but with practice it can be done on a regular basis. It is very similar to the symbolism and belief disciplines discussed in other areas such as personality forcing and imposition.
Other methods involve training on the tulpa's end, and don't focus on the host much at all. The following particular method was written to be read by a tulpa, rather than the host.
The first thing you need to be able to do is have some kind of awareness of your host's body. It's very important that you experience what they see, hear, feel, taste, etc. as they do. You need to relax yourself and tune out your own surroundings, then focus on your host's body. Make sure your host knows what you're doing so they can relax their body and not move. Focus on a simple part of the body like the index finger. Assume that body part is now yours, and try to gain awareness of this body part.
When you are focused try to move it, imagining that you are doing so. If this is your very first time, the body might reject your commands to make it move. This is normal. Even on your first try it might be possible for the index finger to move a couple millimeters in the direction you want. Your host may notice that the finger "clicks" this is pretty much the smallest about of muscle movement possible. If the host detects these movements, please make sure that he/she tells you, and knows that these movements came from you. Doubt on the host's part is counter-productive, and not everyone will feel alien movements.
Most hosts can only give up a small fraction of their day for this. You can still train possession, even when you're not controlling your host's body. We tulpas come in all shapes and forms, but for training possession while not using the physical body you will want to assume a temporary form that is similar to your host's body. Anything that's "human/humanoid" is good enough.
Keep training and moving around in your humanoid body, with the goal of possession in mind. Training usually takes many hours so please be patient. You should always have a set time to train possession with your host, and should attempt this at least once a day. If possible you should set it at the same time each day, to gauge your progress on a daily basis, which is very helpful. I strongly discourage using random times, random days, or when you feel like it.
When a host and tulpa start working on possession through this method, sooner rather than later, they'll get to the point where the tulpa is able to take control of some body part (a hand, or an arm, or a leg) and move it. But the movement is very slow: Lifting the arm from a table will take minutes, up to even half an hour. And the movement is twitchy: Instead of gaining a steady momentum, the arm stops after a few millimeters, then, after some time, twitches to the next intermediate position a few millimeters farther, and so forth. The tulpa will furthermore find that this type of movement is very mentally exhausting for them. So these people ask for advice from senior hosts, and hear that after some time, all of a sudden, the movements will become fluid.
What happens here? The slow, twitchy, uncoordinated movements are your tulpa struggling to take control of your body. Not knowing any better, the tulpa tries to control every muscle individually. But that's not how one controls a human body (or any body, for that matter). When you walk around, you don't think about how to bend each joint at which time. You just set the direction, and find yourself walking shortly thereafter.
The mapping of intent to actual muscle movement is stored in your body's muscle memory. The muscle memory is something that is separate from your own memory. It is not required to have granted the tulpa access to your memory for them to use your body's muscle memory. Or vice-verse; in fact, you will not need to give permission to use the body's muscle memory, since it's not distinctly your muscle memory, but the body's.
So how does the tulpa gain access to the body's muscle memory? This part is something that the tulpa really needs to figure out for herself. A pretty reliable method is to have the tulpa observe the host throughout the day while he moves the body without paying any special attention to it (that is: through use of muscle memory). This probably requires sensory sharing (which means that the tulpa is use the host's physical senses), but then again, possession without sensory sharing is pretty pointless anyway. Through this method, your tulpa can figure out your muscle memory within days.
